Chris delivers the online journalism lectures to all MA students in the Dept of Journalism. Chris has led the online journalism module at City since 2005 and is currently completing his PhD at Goldsmiths College in sociology and computing. He is former online editor of the Press Association, edits BlogScholar.com, manages a large media technology investment fund for London-based Clarity Capital and owns creative services business Smoothmedia. |
Marcus Gilroy-Ware, Visiting Lecturer

Marcus delivers the online journalism to all international, investigative, broadcast and TV current affairs MA journalism students. He has been working with so-called ‘new media’ since he was a child, when it was actually new. He is director of VSC Creative, a group of digital media-related businesses, and founder of the Smartest project. |

Gary blogs for the New York Times and writes for Intelligent Life. He is a former senior online fellow at Mother Jones Magazine, and a former assistant editor/podcast host at Pop & Politics. He spent four years as a community news reporter for the Los Angeles Times. He’s written for Dazed & Confused, the Village Voice, and the San Francisco Chronicle. |
