Chris delivers the online journalism lectures to all MA students in the Dept of Journalism. Chris has led the online journalism module at City since 2005 and is currently completing his PhD at Goldsmiths College in sociology and computing. He is former online editor of the Press Association, edits BlogScholar.com, manages a large media technology investment fund for London-based Clarity Capital and owns creative services business Smoothmedia.

He has been working with so-called ‘new media’ since he was a child, when it was actually new. He is director of VSC Creative, a group of digital media-related businesses, and founder of the Smartest project.

He spent four years as a community news reporter for the Los Angeles Times. He’s written for Dazed & Confused, the Village Voice, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
